UA-3FX for Playback:

Using any playback program, such as iTunes or Media Player, you can use the UA-3FX to change the tonal characteristics of your audio on playback. For example, the Mastering effects section of the UA-3FX offer you a Noise Suppressor, Enhancer, Low-end boost, & a peak limiter. Using these effects you can remove background noise from the silent points in songs, adjust the High & low EQ properties, & compress the sound to make the over all volume greater without clipping.

Using the Listening Effects section, you can remove sounds from the center channel, typically used to remove vocals from a stereo mix, adjust the High & Low EQ & add reverb to music you're listening to. This allows you to make your own karaoke files directly from professional recordings.

The UA-3FX also offers a "Performance" bank of effects which allow you to adjust pitch for gender-bending voice effects, Distortion/Overdrive for jamming along with songs on your guitar, Chorus to add a little depth to the sound, & a delay which is quite well suited to guitar use.

All of these controls can be adjusted directly from the UA-3FX in real time & allow you to quickly make subtle (and not so subtle) changes to the music you listen to, and allow you to interact with your music directly.

UA-3FX for Recording:
The UA-3FX is best suited to the Recording Artist on a budget. It works on PC & Mac offering low-latency driver support, thus supporting your software effects as well as those on the UA-3FX. It can function quite well with most popular DAW programs & it offers mic, guitar, line, & digital inputs.

The UA-3FX has a "Capture" & "Playback" option for the effects onboard. When set to capture, you can record the processed source directly to the computer. When set to playback, you can monitor the effect on the output of the UA-3FX without applying it to audio coming into the UA-3FX.

Adaptive Focus Technology:
The UA-3FX also employs Adaptive Focus technology. Adaptive Focus Technology combines powerful DSP & 2 sets of 24-bit AD converters. The DSP acts as the brain for each AD converter offering more sensitive sound expression while maintaining a greater dynamic range.
